The tropical winter conditions have settled in on North Queensland. The wet season passed by with only a fraction of the usual rainfall.

Fishing Cairns Inlet successfully has definitely been more challenging, however,as usual the full moon saved the day! The incoming morning tides switched the predators into the feeding mode.

Team Austria in Cairns with BarramundiWe had lots of visitors to the area to compete in the world class downhill mountain bike competition. Michael from the Austrian team produced a big win when he landed a solid 70 cm Barramundi on a live mullet at resting spot number 2!

After plenty of jumps it was eventually introduced to the BBQ at Trinity Beach. The whole team celebrated solid form on the bike trails and a big win on Trinity Inlet. Congrats Michael!

There was plenty of other action with some respectable Queenies,Gt’s,Tarpon and Threadfin Salmon landed.

Karen brought her son Jay and daughter Cleo out for a morning outing.Salmon Fishing Cairns

GTHelen came out with her Partner Jim to celebrate his 40th.

She had the hot rod and landed a medium sized GT that was soon introduced to the chef at the Salthouse Restaurant at The Pier.

It does not take a huge a fish to provide a beautiful gourmet meal for two people!
